HUSNG Purchases Sit and Go Grinders HUSNG Purchases Sit and Go Grinders
Key Takeaways
  • Sit and Go Grinders videos will move to the “video pack” sale model used by HUSNG.
  • All existing 3- and 6-month subscriptions at SNG:G will be honored.

HUSNG.com, a leading training site specializing in sit-'n’-go tournament instruction, has announced the acquisition of SitnGoGrinders.com, another leading SNG training site.

According to Ryan “RyPac13” Pachmayer, the founder and co-owner of HUSNG, the site expects a seamless transition and integration with an eye on an expanding global marketplace, plus plenty of new features in the coming months.

Pachmayer is also familiar to many online poker veterans under his “ChicagoRy” handle, used in his forum-moderation duties at online discussion site twoplustwo.

According to Pachmayer, SitnGoGrinders will be transitioned into a video-pack training site, a model which he states is becoming more and more successful in the training site industry.

Pachmayer confirms existing SitnGoGrinders customers should have no worries. “We will continue the Grinders membership system,” he stated, “until all the one- and three-month subscribers have been satisfied. In the meantime, we will be producing video packs, several of which are already up. We’ll cover everything from our specialty heads up sit and go, to 6-max hyper(-SNGs), 18-man SNGs, 180-mans and more.”

The other “Ryan” at HUSNG, Ryan “xSCWx” Dodge, noted how the acquisition of SitnGoGrinders aligned nicely with HUSNG’s market plans, which have remained on track since the site’s founding in 2009.

“This acquisition will help us expand into other sit and go markets. This is not a US market prospect purchase. This is something we plan to expand from day 1 and build into a comprehensive video sales site, with plenty of free strategy and community material such as our popular podcasts,” Dodge told pokerfuse.

Pachmayer also credited former SitnGoGrinder founder/owners Peter and Allan Stephenson with assisting in a seamless transition.

“[They] are nothing short of amazing,” he told pokerfuse. “When you purchase a company, you expect some level of information during the transition, questions you did not think to ask inevitably come up. But they’ve taken a real hands on approach and it is obvious that they truly care about the business they built, even after the sale.”

“Meeting some of the new video makers has been a pleasure,” added Pachmayer. “It’s obvious that this site has been a friendly mix of professionals coming together to make training videos and podcasts. There are a lot of positive ideas floating around and good work ethic is the norm.”

Former owner Peter Stephenson, likewise, is upbeat about the opportunities in store for SitnGoGrinders. “We felt we had taken sitngogrinders as far as we could,” he stated, “and we wanted to pass the business on to a someone who could take it to the next level. We approached HUSNG as we believed they are best placed to form an all encompassing sit-n’-ngo training site and are the perfect team to take on sitngogrinders and develop the site further.”

Like HUSNG, SitnGoGrinders was also founded in 2009, among the first major wave of video-training sites to enter the field. According to Stephenson, Grinders peaked at nearly 1,000 dedicated subscribers just before Black Friday, slipping back a bit afterward, as did much of the rest of the poker world. Stephenson noted that the SitnGoGrinders site has been “consistently ranked as the number one sit-'n’-go training site by independent reviewers.”

Pachmayer also confirmed an upcoming media blitz via the sitngogrinders Twitter account, along with a comprehensive YouTube channel dedicated to SitnGoGrinders. The YouTube channel will mirror the success of HUSNG’s YouTube channel, which to date offers over 200 free videos, has over 700 subscribers, and has received over 200,000 video views.

Pachmayer’s ongoing membership plans for the existing SitnGoGrinders client base include membership videos continuing for a few months, along with the rollout of the new video packages, which require a one-time purchase and will be dedicated to specific themes, such as turbo SNG play.
